Jeannette Byrd

With over 30 years of experience in public accounting, CFO, controller, and bookkeeping services, Jeannette knows the ins and outs of the accounting industry. Specializing in law firm and trust accounting, Jeannette is able to bring unique industry insights to clients and serves just as much as an advisor as she does a financial expert. Jeannette received her BSBA in Accounting and her Masters of Science in Taxation from the University of Central Florida. Jeannette is a loving dog mom to Byrd & Associates’ Chief Security Officer, Lily. When she’s not at the office you’ll find Jeannette spending time with her family, working out, or playing golf.

Patti Deegan

While most people fear the IRS, it’s Patti that keeps the IRS up at night. Patti has over 30 years of experience in public accounting, with a specialty in tax representation and business and individual tax returns and planning. She received her BSBA in Accounting from the University of Central Florida and has significant experience with personal service firms, particularly in the legal and professional services industries. When she’s not pushing out those tax returns, Patti loves to spend time with her family, particularly her grandbabies.

Julie Buckner

Julie brings 20 years of public accounting experience to Byrd & Associates, specializing in federal and state taxation for closely held businesses, individuals, and trusts. She works with clients both locally and across the country, helping them navigate complex tax matters with practical guidance, thoughtful planning, and personalized solutions.

A graduate of Cedarville University, Julie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting with a minor in Bible. Throughout her career in Central Florida, she has developed a reputation for technical expertise and dedication to client service.

Outside of the office, Julie enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She also cherishes opportunities to visit family on their farm homestead in Kane County, Illinois, where she stays connected to her Midwestern roots.

Izel Sykes

Izel’s education includes a BS degree in Accounting from the University of Santo Tomas, and a Masters in Accounting from the Keller Graduate School of Management, as well as being a Certified Public Accountant, with almost 10 years of experience assisting businesses with their accounting needs. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Izel’s true joy comes from spending quality time with family and friends. She firmly believes that these connections are the cornerstone of a fulfilling life and strives to bring the same warmth and camaraderie to her professional relationships. Izel is a proud wife and mother to one of the cutest kids you’ve ever seen!

Courtney Wages

Courtney received a BS in Accounting from Auburn University Harbert College of Business, and is nearing completion of her Masters in Accounting from the University of Central Florida. Courtney specializes in law firm accounting and taxation. Courtney also has the distinction of being a loving lab dog mom to Byrd & Associates’ Chief Happiness Officer, Charli.

Lizzy Bailey

With a degree in Finance from the University of Louisiana, and a MBA from the Southern Utah University, this Cajun girl knows her stuff. Lizzy loves to problem-solve and enjoys that feeling of satisfaction that comes from balancing accounts. Firms love working with her because of her pleasant personality, paired with her impressive knowledge of accounting and the needs unique to law firms. Lizzy also throws the absolute best dinner parties, complete with the most incredible gumbo you’ll ever taste!

Fabiola Marquez

Fabiola holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and brings more than five years of experience in accounting and auditing. She is passionate about helping businesses stay financially organized, compliant, and confident in their financial operations. Known for her attention to detail and proactive approach, Fabiola enjoys building strong relationships with clients and supporting their success.

Originally from Venezuela, Fabiola combines technical expertise with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a genuine commitment to serving others.

Outside of work, Fabiola enjoys spending time with her family, traveling to scenic natural destinations, and finding inspiration through home décor and design.

Rayah Heil

As the Office Manager for Byrd & Associates, Rayah helps oversee the daily operations of the firm, focusing on providing an excellent customer experience. Rayah has over 10 years of administrative and customer service experience and received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. As a native Floridian, Rayah enjoys soaking in the sunshine at the beach and spending time with her husband and two adorable dogs.

Svetlana Laznova

Svetlana Laznova is a Tax Coordinator at Byrd & Associates, where she plays an important role in supporting the tax preparation process from start to finish. She assists with the preparation and processing of tax returns, coordinates the collection of essential client documents, and helps ensure filings are completed accurately and on time. Svetlana is dedicated to providing a smooth and positive client experience, combining attention to detail with exceptional customer service.

Originally from Russia, Svetlana earned her degree in English and Philology from Kuban State University. Outside of work, she is a certified Classical Pilates instructor who enjoys traveling, cooking, soaking up the sunshine, and relaxing with her favorite Bravo shows.
